The Dupree Doll face was copyrighted in 1994 and Marilee began to design a still expanding line of mostly, but not exclusively, Alaskan activity dolls. “My dolls depict ordinary people going about their daily lives.”
Constructed of “cloth on wire”, each doll is handmade from a variety of materials - some new, some recycled, some found on the beach. The result is an irresistible, cheerful character, brightly clothed and posable.
The Dupree Doll is spreading it's warmth and charm throughout the United States and beyond. “I like to think of my dolls as ambassadors of goodwill. I hope they spread joy everywhere they go. ”

Marilee Dupree grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York state. Her life changed when she visited her sister in Homer Alaska in August 1978. She has lived in Homer since then.
Commercial fishing was her occupation until 1991 when carpal tunnel syndrome forced her to kick off her rubber boots and hang up her rain gear. She married Richard Alba and began to develop the Dupree Doll.
